About the Greater Western Sydney team
The YFM chapter closest to the farms and people which feed Sydney, YFM Greater Western Sydney launched in late 2014 out of a partnership with the Western Sydney University. Headed up by Megan Hounslow and a team of budding food advocates at UWS Hawkesbury Campus, YFM GWS is a unique mixture of agriculture and irreverent student energy rolled into one.
Their first event, the One Mile Dinner, was a celebration of foods grown in the Hawkesbury and brought together everyone from academics, community farming health professionals, peach farmers, cattle farmers, students and the ever vivacious Costa Georgiadis.
