Tell us a bit about you?
I am currently studying a Bachelor of Health Science (Nutritional and Dietetic Medicine) at Endeavour College of Natural Health as my passions are food and holistic health. I have spent the last few years trying to figure out what I want to do with my life and trying to identify what my true passions are, and to be honest, I think I have finally figured them out.
I have always been active, healthy and interested in health, but not necessarily interested in food. As I got older, I began to make the connection between what we eat and how we feel, and I guess that’s where my passions for health and food came about. Through my own health journey, I found veganism and through veganism, I realized we had a broken food system. By becoming vegan, I began to get interested in where our food comes from, what happens to it and the effects that has on our communities and on our environment. I found a new passion for sustainability and finding a solution to our food problems.
The sustainability community is dominated by adults over the age of 35, Youth Food Movement is a place to change that. What I love about YFM is that it’s more than just a community of changemakers, it truly is a family of people that all have the same goal: educating others about the problems in our food system. Young people have the power to create real change, YFM gives us the resources to make it happen.
